Community-Based Clinical Education (CBCE)

An extensive network of clinical affiliation sites across the U.S. and Canada provides Doctor of Chiropractic students ultimate geographic flexibility when selecting rotation sites. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will learn to apply your skills with real patients in sites like sports-focused clinics, private practices, medically integrated health systems like the VA, academic medical centers, and more.

This robust, real-world clinical training program is designed to expose you to a variety of professional settings and models of care before graduation.

Standardized Patient Program

The Standardized Patient Program brings learning to life through realistic clinical simulations. Standardized patients are healthy individuals trained to accurately portray the medical history, physical symptoms, and emotional behaviors of real patients, allowing you to practice clinical reasoning and communication skills in a controlled, supportive, and supervised setting.

The Standardized Patient Program plays a vital training role in multiple UWS programs.

Connected Whole Health Clinic

You can gain hands-on experience with real patients right here at UWS at the Connected Whole Health Clinic, our on-campus clinic that provides an enriching learning environment for students and top-notch patient care for Portland residents. These early, authentic patient-care experiences prepare you for more individualized and specialized clinical placements later on.

Believing quality care should be accessible to all, the Connected Whole Health Clinic offers most services at little or no cost.
