Are My Credits Eligible to Transfer?
We recognize the time and effort you’ve already invested in your education. At UWS, we review transfer applications individually to determine whether previously completed coursework may apply toward your degree.
To be considered for transfer credit, the following requirements must be met:
- Good academic standing: You must be in good standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in the program from which transfer credit is requested.
- Accredited institutions: Credits must be earned at an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or the foreign equivalent).
- Eligible coursework: Transfer credit is awarded only for courses with a grade of C or higher.
- Course equivalency: Courses must be equivalent in content and credit hours to corresponding courses at UWS. All coursework is reviewed on a course-by-course basis by the appropriate academic faculty or staff.
- Time limits on credits: Some programs require that transfer credits be completed within a specific timeframe. Please review the Academic Catalog for detailed requirements.
- Residency requirement: If you transfer into a Doctor of Chiropractic or master’s program, you must complete the final 25% of your program credits at UWS.
- Transfer request timeline: Requests for transfer credit must be submitted by the third term of enrollment at UWS.
UWS may also consider nontraditional or non-institutionally based coursework recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE) College Credit Recommendation Service (CREDIT). However, the university does not grant course exemptions based on life or work experience or other non-coursework learning.
