Fitness Facilities


Health and fitness is a focus on campus for students, faculty and staff. Many student groups hold activities throughout the week for mental and physical well-being.

Campus Fitness Center

The University of Western States fitness center, located in the the gym, includes aerobic equipment (FreeMotion Fitness ellipticals, bikes, and treadmills) and a strength training suite (weight systems, cable based training, and plenty of free space for equipment clearance). The gym features a basketball court, ping-pong table, foosball, lounge and locker rooms.

Monday – Friday 6:30 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Field Activities

Soccer, volleyball, kickball, frisbee and yoga club are all at home in the university’s field. There are even periodic sports matches between faculty and staff and students.


Campus Loop

A path around campus provides a peaceful walking trail for in between classes.

Walking Labyrinth

In 2013 a group of students, in collaboration with staff and donors, built a walking labyrinth to encourage mindfulness and self-care.


Physical Activity Fee Reimbursement

University of Western States encourages students to support healthy behaviors. Each quarter students can be reimbursed $20 for participating in a physical wellness activity. It can be an exercise class, wellness event, run, gym membership or team event. Just fill out the physical activity fee reimbursement form once a quarter, attach the receipt from that quarter and turn in the form to student services.
