Dr. Melinda Novak is a transplant from the Midwest (Chicago and Michigan) who needed an escape from the snow. She followed the Oregon Trail (not really) to Portland, Oregon where she completed the chiropractic program. Following the completion of the DC program, Dr. Novak completed a diagnostic imaging residency at UWS and is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology. Dr. Novak teaches a variety of radiology courses at UWS.
During her radiology residency, Dr. Novak completed a Master of Science degree in diagnostic imaging with her thesis research on the topic of diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound. Diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound is of particular interest to her and has completed extensive training in performing and interpreting these imaging studies. Dr. Novak has achieved advanced certification in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound (RMSK) and is one of only a few providers in the Portland area to offer these services.
When not teaching or interpreting X-rays and ultrasounds, Dr. Novak loves to be in the kitchen whipping up a batch of bagels or pretzels, out on the water kayaking/sailing/paddle boarding or spending time with her wife and golden retriever puppy, Roxy.
