Dr. Kurtz is a DC, DACBR, DACBSP, team Chiropractor for the Seattle Seahawks, as well as a UWS alum.
For the past four seasons, UWS alum, Dr. James T. Kurtz has been the team chiropractor for the Seattle Seahawks, helping to prepare them for Super Bowl XLVIII. As one of only 32 NFL team chiropractic physicians in the nation, Kurtz feels lucky to be part of the Seahawks great medical and training staff.
Early in his educational experience, Kurtz transferred to UWS because of the reputation for an integrated approach to therapies. He would advise current and future students to shadow a clinician and ask questions so that you can develop the type of practice that will best serve you and your patients.
Kurtz credits a fellow UWS alum as instrumental in his opportunity with the Seahawks. He also notes that the UWS master’s in sports and exercise science is a great pathway into athletics because it provides doctors with necessary additional training. Kurtz is not only happy with his decision to attend UWS for the great education that he received, but also because he met his wife of 22 years when they were both students.
Now that they are empty-nesters, Kurtz and his wife, Ming Ming Su-Brown, spend personal time at their cabin hiking and biking with their three rescue dogs.
