I am passionate about good health, nutrition and healthy cooking. I am looking forward to combining my professional and educational experiences into helping others achieve optimum wellness and happiness in their lives.

1.  Why did you choose UWS? Why did you choose HNFM? I was looking for a program that complemented and added to my two previous health degree programs in Oriental medicine and public health. Serendipity led me to UWS and I’m glad I did this program.

2.  What has been your favorite class/instructor? Jason Hawrelak and his emphasis on GI health is truly the “center” of holistic health and nutrition. I learned all about the important role of mitochondria in health and chronic disease from Michael Gonzalez (with whom I co-authored a paper which was published in the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine). Two women teachers are especially supportive and knowledgeable – Sandra Schienbaum and Paz Echeverry.

3.  What do you hope to do after graduation? I’m moving to Florida in two weeks and hope to join an integrative practice with other holistic practitioners. I’d like to apply my skills to help people create vitality and great health for life.

4.  Wild Card: Favorite way to get some stress out from school? I have found the techniques we learned in the Mind Body Medicine class to be very helpful for relieving my personal stress. I plan on using these techniques with my future clients as well. I also enjoy jogging, swimming and walking to reduce stress and get clear-minded.
