Nicole Vollum (she/her) is the reference, instruction and outreach librarian at the UWS Library. In addition to providing reference and research services for UWS students and faculty, clinicians, and staff, she teaches the EIP I (evidence informed practices) course for incoming DC and NMD students as well as the self-paced research skills courses for the College of Graduate Studies. Nicole serves as a liaison to the library, engaging and collaborating with entities across UWS to increase and improve the library’s facilitation of scholarly and educational goals both on campus and online. With a background in biomedical sciences and medical technology research, Nicole is always excited to learn about new health topics while facilitating research and teaching new information mastery skills to the UWS community.

Nicole holds a Bachelor of Science in natural science with a minor in chemistry from Portland State University, a Master of Arts (MA) in science and technology studies from the Technical University of Munich, and a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Arizona. Outside of Portland she has lived in Munich, Germany, and Pittsburgh, PA.
