Adjunct Instructor, Sport and Performance Psychology

Dr. Matthew J. Moore, a certified mental performance consultant (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), a visiting assistant professor of sport leadership and management at Miami University (OH) with a focus in sport and exercise psychology and sport leadership.

Matt has extensive experience in helping and training students, soldiers and athletes reach their goals. Outside of higher education, Matt’s professional background also includes personal training, strength and conditioning at the NCAA DI level and mental training at all levels. As a Utah native, Matt also prides himself on being an “outdoor enthusiast.”

As a professor, Matt is profoundly influenced by relationship-based pedagogy. Teaching and helping students throughout their academic journeys is a place where Matt finds true professional fulfillment. Ultimately, Matt’s mission is to holistically empower those that he works with to optimize and cultivate self-awareness, acceptance, commitment, and psychological flexibility within one’s environment.
