Why did you choose UWS? After a lot of research, I chose UWS based on their commitment to supporting students in achieving their career aspirations, the flexibility of online courses, and because courses fulfilling CMPC educational requirements and cover a variety of important sport psychology concepts as well as knowledge regarding general counseling.

Why did you choose your program/concentration? I have a strong passion for helping performers maintain or achieve optimal performance by developing greater self-awareness and providing mental skills training. I believe the skills used in performance settings are transferable to life, and the MS-SPP applied program helps me turn theory into applicable skills.

What/who has been your favorite class/instructor? One course I really enjoyed was Sport and Performance Psych Interventions, taught by Dr. Meir, because this was a key transitional moment in the program where we started to apply our knowledge to real-world case studies. I loved that this course had consistent Zoom sessions with the class, as well as required one-on-one meetings with other classmates because it allowed me to build stronger relationships with my peers.

What is your favorite way to relieve stress outside of the office and classroom? Two of my favorite ways to relieve stress are through exercise and being outside. I enjoy any activity where I am able to move my body, but I currently love strength training and Pilates. I also try my best to spend as much time outside, such as going for a walk, a bike ride, or rollerblading.

What do you hope to do after graduation? I am very excited for the opportunity to learn and gain experience from the Diamondbacks. After graduation, I hope to continue growing my knowledge of the field, learning the best practices to support performers, and complete requirements to obtain my CMPC.
