Concentration and Degree Level Change

Students in certain academic programs are eligible to change concentrations within their degree or change degree level within their field of study as described below. For more information, please see Policy 2002 Change in Concentration, Degree Level, and/or Program.

Concentration changes are changes of curriculum that happen within the same degree level and field of study.

Degree level changes are changes from a higher degree level to a lower degree level within the same field of study. Students who change their degree level are withdrawn from their original degree program at the time that they move to the new degree.

Changing your concentration or degree level may impact your financial aid eligibility and/or lengthen your program of study. When you change your concentration or degree level, the program requirements of your new concentration/degree level are aligned with the current academic catalog at the time of the change, which may be different from the catalog requirements when you began.

It is the student’s responsibility to determine financial aid and academic implications for a concentration or degree level change. For more information or to discuss your options, please make an appointment with your student success advisor.
