As a deaf athlete, playing at a professional level when the odds were stacked against me was one of the greatest honors of my life. Now, as a mental performance professional, I strive to help deaf athletes overcome challenges and emerge as champions, not just in sports but in life. There’s nothing more rewarding than supporting athletes as they compete against the best in the world while proudly wearing the red, white, and blue. This experience is deeply personal to me, but it’s also an opportunity to represent the deaf community on a global stage. Being part of the USA Performance Psychology Team allows me to give back to the community that shaped me and to help athletes reach their full potential.
My journey hasn’t been without challenges, but those obstacles have driven me to where I am today. Earning my doctorate in sports and performance psychology was a major milestone, and I’m incredibly grateful for the support I received from UWS along the way. Their belief in me has fueled my passion to serve deaf and hard-of-hearing athletes around the world, helping them break barriers and thrive in every aspect of their lives.
I’m thrilled to work alongside an exceptional group of professionals on the USA Performance Psychology Team. Together, we’re preparing Team USA for world-class competition while also showcasing the power of inclusion, resilience, and determination. This opportunity allows me to combine my personal experiences and professional expertise to make a meaningful impact, and I couldn’t be more honored to be part of this journey.
