What brought you to UWS?
My passion for chiropractic care began when I supported my own family member through their recovery from a neurological disorder. During my undergraduate studies, I took several courses in neuroscience and human anatomy, which solidified my desire to pursue a field focused on the nervous system. I was drawn to chiropractic care because it combines this focus with hands-on techniques that promote healing and improve quality of life.

What is most rewarding about your field/work?
The most rewarding aspect of my work is witnessing the immediate relief patients experience through chiropractic care. One of the most memorable things a patient has shared with me is, “I don’t feel the pain in my lower back anymore—I didn’t know my body could ever heal from that.” Another told me, “I forgot what it felt like to not be in pain. Thank you, Dr. B, for your magical hands.” Seeing my patients smile after years of discomfort and knowing that chiropractic treatment played a key role in their recovery, deepens my passion for what I do every day.

Why did you choose UWS? / What do you now appreciate about your education?
I chose the University of Western States for its unique opportunity to enter the chiropractic program directly and complete both a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and a bachelor’s degree within an accelerated three-year timeline. The institution’s evidence-based curriculum, combined with its holistic approach to healthcare, strongly aligned with my values as a future practitioner. I found the program to be both rigorous and enriching, pushing me to grow academically and clinically. The comprehensive training I received not only strengthened my confidence but also equipped me to deliver the highest standard of care to my patients.

Is there anything you would tell your younger self?
If I could give my younger self advice, I’d say: make time to balance your chiropractic education with the hobbies that bring you joy. Embrace every part of the journey—both in and out of the classroom—and take the time to appreciate the little moments. Looking back now, I genuinely miss going to school every day and all the memories that came with it. Enjoy the ride—it goes by faster than you think!
