Free, Open-Access Resources

Learning in classroom and the clinic (LINCC) documents are useful companions designed to ensure consistency in learning and application of clinical knowledge and skills. To best meet a patient’s needs, variation from LINCC documents may be appropriate based on more current information, clinical judgment of the practitioner, and/or patient preference.

Jurisdictional Licensing Responsibility

University of Western States informs all learners that it is their responsibility to know the state rules and regulations that apply toward their licensure. Any specific questions learners have should be addressed to their state licensing board. Learners are responsible for understanding and meeting their individual renewal requirements.

CE Approvals and Accreditation

CE Approvals

University of Western States is an approved provider for the Providers of Approved Continuing Education (PACE) program of the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards. States that accept courses approved by PACE include: AK, CT, DC, ID, IN, IA, KS, ME, MD, MA, MN, MO, MT, NE, NH, NJ, NC, ND, OH, OR, RI, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, VA, WA, WY, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and Nova Scotia. Each PACE-approved course will be assigned a number that is listed on the completion certificate.

Accreditation

University of Western States is accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE), which provides approval for CE programs. The states that approve courses offered by CCE-accredited universities include CT, DC, DE, IA, ID, IN, MA, MI, MS, MT, ND, OR, RI, SC, UT, VA, WA, WY, and BC. Certificates provided by UWS for participants from these states will receive a certificate that will not list an approval number.

Continuing Education Credit and State Responsibility

Continuing Education Credit (CEC) is provided by University of Western States. While applications relating to credit hours for license renewal in selected states have been executed for these programs, it remains attendees’ responsibility to contact the state board(s) from whom they seek continuing education credits to ensure said board(s) approve both venue and content as they relate to any seminar, course, lecture, webinar, or online presentation (event). Neither a speaker’s nor exhibitor’s presence at said event, nor product mention or display, shall in any way constitute UWS endorsement. UWS’ role is strictly limited to processing, submitting, and archiving program documents on behalf of course sponsors. For specific information regarding state renewal requirements, please contact your state board directly.

Financial Obligations

Attendees are personally responsible for meeting their financial obligations to the university. Payment of tuition and fees is due on or before the day of the educational session. A full month’s interest at 18% per annum will be assessed on the last business day of the month if payment is delayed for any reason. After three months of nonpayment, any account will be forwarded to a collection agency. Any past-due debt to the university or any of its departments or auxiliary services is grounds for immediate termination of campus privileges.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

A $35 nonrefundable fee is included in the registration cost. Failure to cancel 72 hours prior to the seminar is nonrefundable. “Nonrefundable” does not mean that a credit toward another UWS continuing education course is not offered. Credit will be held for up to one year from the date of the original course.

Every attempt is made to offer programs as announced. UWS reserves the right to adjust program faculty, location, dates, times, and/or tuition to accommodate unanticipated occurrences, to limit seating, or to cancel due to insufficient enrollment. UWS is not responsible for any expenses incurred by registrants due to program adjustments or cancellation. Only those who are preregistered can be notified in the event of changes or cancellation.
