An Evolution

Through conversations and research with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external partners, we heard a consistent message – while UWS is respected for its academic rigor, our previous logo and visual identity didn’t fully reflect or communicate our credibility and focus on integrated, whole-person health.

That insight guided the next step – evolving how we present our university so it more clearly represents who we are and what makes us unique – and differentiating ourselves in a highly competitive market.

New Logo and Visual Identity 

At the center of this evolution is a new logo and updated visual identity.

This rebrand is designed to more clearly and effectively communicate the value of UWS and the distinct advantage we offer. Our updated visual approach is purposeful and meaningful across every aspect of the design. All with the goal of better reflecting what sets us apart: an integrated approach to health that connects evidence-based practice with whole-person care.

The Meaning Behind the Mark

The bold “W” reflects the university’s name and strong foundation in education.

A human form symbolizes human-centered care and the university’s focus on health and well-being. The circular form at the top reinforces the concept of whole-person health, signifying balance, unity, and the integration of mind, body, and spirit.

An abstract “S” shape is seamlessly integrated, representing movement, alignment, and the emphasis on optimal performance.

The plum color choice is intentional, adding a bold, intellectual tone that balances confidence with creative energy, grounding the entire brand identity.

More Than a New Look

This evolution goes beyond the logo. It reflects how we communicate who we are, how we present our programs, and how we share the UWS story across everything we do.

As part of this next chapter, we’re also introducing a new website and digital experience.

The updated site is designed to be clearer, easier to navigate, and more engaging for future students and our broader community.
