Dr. Sherman is an adjunct professor in the naturopathic medicine department at University of Western States. She currently teaches Medical Documentation IV, which teaches students how to build their skills and integrate electronic medical records into clinical documentation. The course blends practical skills with real-world context, empowering students to succeed as healthcare professionals.
Dr. Sherman began her professional career as a graphic designer at a Grammy award winning design studio in New York City. While living in New York, she became interested in herbal medicine and nutrition and initially considered becoming a dietitian. Fate lead her to Portland, Oregon, and naturopathic college. Following graduation from the National College of Natural Medicine (now the National University of Natural Medicine), she completed a two-year residency at the clinics affiliated with the school, followed by a two-year naturopathic oncology residency at the IU Goshen Center for Cancer Care. Dr. Sherman has worked on staff as a hospital-based naturopathic doctor at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Phoenix, Arizona, and Goshen Center for Cancer Care in Goshen, Indiana.
Currently, Dr. Sherman co-hosts and co-produces The Cancer Pod, a podcast about integrative and naturopathic oncology. She lives in a quiet neighborhood in Portland, Oregon with her husband, three dogs, and one corn snake.
