I work full time as a community retail pharmacist but I am also a practicing herbalist in the western tradition. I have completed advanced training in compounding pharmacy as well as in botanical medicine preparation, the pharmacology of essential oils, and plant-based nutrition. My personal mission is to be a bridge of information between the worlds of western allopathic conventional medicine and complementary/alternative medical modalities such as naturopathy, acupuncture, chiropractic, and functional medicine, and to facilitate better communication and understanding for us all. I taught Western Pharmacology at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine until its closure in 2024, and I am currently an adjunct instructor in Special Topics: Complementary Medicine at the College of Pharmacy at Oregon State University in Corvallis. My current course for UWS is: Pharmacology and Drug-Nutrient Interactions for the Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine program.
