Ale currently holds a position as a Professor of Psychology at the UW - La Crosse (US) as well as a Visiting Professor of Applied Psychology in the School of Psychology, Sport, and Health Sciences at the University of Portsmouth (UK). Originally from Italy, Ale has received his training in the USA, Italy, and Spain. A transnational scientist-practitioner, Ale is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC), approved mentor and Fellow with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), a national certified counselor (NCC) with the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), a Chartered Psychologist (CPsych), approved supervisor (RAPPS), and Associated Fellow (AFBPsS) with the British Psychological Society and a Registered Practicing Psychologist (SEP & Counseling Psychology) with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the United Kingdom. Ale is a practitioner and supervisor listed in the International Society of Sport Psychology Registry. He is actively engaged with numerous international professional organizations, holding leadership positions in some of them. Ale collaborates with clients, including individuals, teams, and organizations, across various performance domain and competitive levels. His primary professional interests focus on supporting both current and future professionals in their development and practice. Ale is particularly dedicated to understanding and enhancing the self-care and wellbeing of helping professionals, especially those in sport and performance psychology. He aims to support practitioners in their personal and professional growth within the sport psychology field, ensuring they provide ethical, competent, culturally sensitive, and effective services. Finally, he supervises the research and applied practice of trainees in their journey to become psychology practitioners (CMPC, US) and psychologists (HCPC, UK) When I am not working, you can find me spending time with my girls, Ara and Maral, and my partner, Sheyda, listening to and dancing to a wide range of international music (does not mean I am good at it!). You may also find me playing FIFA and other games on PS4, reading news, and learning new recipes. My motto: HAKUNA MATATA.
