Massage Therapy Scholarships

Scholarship Application Deadlines
March 3 for spring 2017 applicants
September 22 for fall 2017 applicants
March 23 for spring 2018 applicants

Qualifications for all MT Scholarships:
Minimum 3.0 GPA or equivalent in most recent academic setting (or a score of 550+ on GED exam), must be an incoming student

The scholarship application below should be submitted with typed answers to essays and other materials as required. Typically $1,000 will be awarded annually for each of the following programs.

General Scholarship

This scholarship is open to all incoming Massage Therapy students who wish to apply.

Essay Questions: (two pages maximum)

  • What are your short and long-term career goals?
  • How will this scholarship contribute to your success in the UWS massage program?


Massage Therapy Cultural Diversity Scholarship

UWS awards this scholarship to encourage applicants with diverse backgrounds or who represent an underrepresented population in the massage profession.

Essay Questions: (two pages maximum)

  • How do you see yourself as an underrepresented person in the massage profession?
  • What has been your previous involvement (at school, work or in your personal life) to promote or foster diversity?


Community Service and Leadership Scholarship

An important element of the UWS mission is encouraging students to participate in activities and projects that provide meaningful service to the campus, the field of health care and our community. This scholarship was established to support student engagement in such activities.

Qualifications: Enrollment in a UWS degree or certificate, 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher, demonstration of a record of meaningful campus, professional and/or community involvement, must be an incoming student

Essay Questions: (two pages maximum):

  • Describe your leadership and community service experience and why you believe this service activity is important.
  • What are your career goals and how will this service experience benefit you in your future career? How will this service benefit the campus, profession and/or community?
