Patrick Davis, EdD

Assistant Professor, Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Dr. Patrick E. Davis was born in Manhattan, New York, but spent most of his formative years in Orlando, Fla. Dr. Davis earned his bachelor’s degree in theology from Ambassador College and earned his master’s and doctoral degrees in counseling and counselor education at Texas A&M University-Commerce. 


Dr. Davis has taught graduate and undergraduate students for the past 20 years. He also taught in K-12 settings and served as an engaged Title I public-school counselor. Dr. Davis also served as director (interim) and senior counselor in university counseling centers; an addictions counselor; lead primary family therapist for adolescent sexual offenders, and founder/director of Help Finding Our Way ~ Counseling & Educational Services. Dr. Davis is passionate about the education of our children and has dedicated much of his professional career researching and explicating causes of the debilitating black and white academic achievement gap.
