Leandra Ramsay

Student Ambassador

Leandra Ramsay was born and raised in Calgary, AB, Canada and moved to Vancouver, BC to complete her BSc. in kinesiology at Simon Fraser University (SFU). She played many sports growing up including soccer, volleyball and rugby and continued on to play one season with the SFU women’s varsity soccer team before focusing her priorities on academics and her career. After completing her undergrad, she knew that she wanted to use her skills and education to provide patient-centred treatment to people who have sustained injuries or experience chronic pain. She wanted an education that would provide knowledge beyond just pain reduction and injury rehab however, which is how she came to choose the chiropractic profession. The evidence-based holistic approach that UWS offers was exactly what she was looking for. As a clinical intern, Leandra can utilize various aspects of her education to improve the overall quality of life for her patients by treating them on a case-by-case basis instead of a “one treatment fits all” method. She has come to enjoy the freedom that the chiropractic profession offers when it comes to a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
