Alisa Fairweather, MPH attended American University in Washington, DC where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She also earned a Master of Public Health in Health Education/Promotion from Portland State University.
Ms. Fairweather spent nearly 10 years in the Pulmonary and Critical Care Division working as a Research Associate in the Hatfield Research Center focusing on federal grants and pharmaceutical-sponsored research in the areas of COPD, asthma and smoking cessation.
Ms. Fairweather joined University of Western States in 2002 as a research project manager in the Center for Outcomes Studies until 2004 when the grant ended. She then became the Director of Student Services and, subsequently, the Director of Academic Program Development where she remained until 2009. From 2009 until 2012, she was the Dean of Undergraduate and Continuing Education and added Graduate Studies to her title until 2013. Ms. Fairweather returned to UWS in 2015 after spending two years as a small business owner here in Portland.
Ms. Fairweather prides herself in being civic-minded and participates actively in her neighborhood via numerous associations, her neighborhood schools and a litany of volunteer opportunities and projects.
