UWS Signs Articulation Agreement with National University of Health Sciences

PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 25 – University of Western States (UWS), a leader in the education of health care professionals, has completed an articulation agreement with National University of Health Sciences (NUHS). The agreement enables UWS graduates of the doctor of chiropractic (DC) program to complete a doctor of naturopathic medicine degree (ND) at NUHS in as few as four additional trimesters, saving both time and expense for students seeking both degrees.

“This agreement means students can further their education, increase their knowledge and have more tools to care for their patients,” said Dr. Joseph Brimhall, president of UWS.

“We are proud to partner with the University of Western States, so that we can provide future physicians with training in naturopathic medicine for a more integrated approach to patient care,” said Dr. Joseph Stiefel, president of NUHS.

Beginning summer 2015, current DC degree candidates and UWS DC graduates will be eligible to apply to the NUHS ND program. Credit for courses taken at UWS transfer directly to NUHS and apply toward the completion of the ND requirements. The agreement helps minimize the time requirement and loan debt incurred by dual degree students. The agreement requires that both the DC and the ND degree programs be completed within eight years of the earliest program matriculation.
