Adolescent Low Back Pain Study

Will There Be Any Cost?

This is no cost for participation. The study is paid for by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HRSA)

Who Can Participate?

This study is accepting boys and girls who:

  • Are 12 to 18 years of age
  • Are in generally good health
  • Have pain in their lower back

What Will You Do?

Participants will:

  • Receive a physical exam
  • Complete questionnaires
  • Receive one of two treatments for 12 weeks:
    • Chiropractic care with supervised exercise
    • Supervised exercise

Where Is The Study Taking Place?

The University of Western States is located in NE Portland at 2900 NE 132nd Avenue. Over the past decade, the University of Western States has received more than $7 million in federal funding to study non-surgical treatments for back and neck conditions.
