Low Back Pain Study
In 2006, the University of Western States received a $2.8 million grant from
the National Institutes of Health to study the efficacy and dose-response of
spinal manipulation for chronic low back pain. Four hundred volunteers
participated in this randomized controlled trial. Participants received
eighteen treatments over six weeks each consisting of spinal manipulation or
light massage at one of nine area clinic locations.
Treatment ended in 2010, but the follow-up phase is continuing as
participants provide feedback for a year following treatment.
Keep an eye out here for study results.
