Continuing Education
UWS Continuing Education is a Recognized Provider of the Providers of Approved Continuing Education (PACE) program, a service of the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards. This is a voluntary review process that ensures the quality of the chiropractic continuing education programs offered by UWS. Postgraduate certification and diplomate programs for chiropractors in sports medicine, internal medicine, and other specialty areas are offered in a weekend format and signify specialized expertise. UWS enjoys a special relationship with the Universidade Anhembi Morumbi chiropractic program in Brazil and often hosts a few of their graduates on our campus through the International Chiropractic Program.
UWS also provides continuing education training for Chiropractic Assistants with the 12 hour Initial Training Program for Chiropractic Assistants, and 6 hour Continuing Education courses for Certified Chiropractic Assistants through face-to-face and distance learning opportunities. The current requirement for continuing education for chiropractic assistants is 6 hours per year. Course are available through distance learning, online courses and the Saturday portion of the weekend chiropractic assistant course.
Since 1999, the Division of Continuing Education has been host to the Northwest Symposium; a 3-day event of continuing education seminars for chiropractic physicians, massage therapists, and chiropractic assistants. Conference attendees come from far and wide to take part in alumni activities and attend continuing education programs provided by highly-respected speakers on a wide variety of topics.
