Clinic Phase Labs Teaching Assistant (Ongoing position)

Salary: $22.00/hr
Classification: Quarterly contract, hourly Non-Exempt

Report To: Lead Lab instructor/ Asst. VP of Quality Improvement

Description
The chief responsibility of the Clinic Phase Labs Teaching Assistant is to assist in the education of 3rd year students in their Clinic Phase I-III labs.
Requirements
 Must be a graduate of a CCE-accredited college.
 Hold an active chiropractic license in good standing, with attainment of an Oregon DC license within 6 months of hire.
Responsibilities
 Observe, assist and evaluate the students in labs with history taking, examination procedures, and report of findings as necessary.
 Perform simulations of various conditions which include having students take histories and perform examination procedures on the Teaching Assistant. Assistants may need to wear gowns and/or shorts during these activities.
 Evaluate written and oral case presentations during lab conferences.
 Assist students with learning administrative and medicolegal protocols; help to enforce all clinic and University policies.
 Meet with students for scheduled lab conferences.
 Meet with the lead instructor and/or the lab coordinator on a regular basis for training, educational, and/or administrative purposes.
 Read, understand and act in accordance with all FERPA standards established by UWS for protecting the security and privacy of student records.
 Perform other duties as assigned by the lead instructor.
 Conscientiously keep up with any articles or other developmental materials distributed.
 Must have regular internet access for communication and transmission of developmental materials.
 Must wear professional clinic attire during labs and conferences.
Qualifications
High level of proficiency in regards to performing and teaching the following: patient histories, regional exams and exam flows, and writing treatment plans.  Treatment plans include diagnosis, management, prognosis, and the ability to write a paragraph that supports the diagnoses. 
 
Minimum of 1 year practice experience preferred.
